



PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Master of Education -Adult Education and Training (AET) degree is housed in the School of Education at Colorado State University. Faculty in AET are practitioners of adult education and are experts in the field of adult learning, teaching, instructional design, assessment, evaluation, and learning transfer. The program is designed to prepare practitioners for planning and instructional responsibilities appropriate for adult learners in postsecondary, community, and corporate settings.
The AET program provides learners with the skills needed to successfully administer and deliver a wide range of training and educational programs. Students enroll in courses focusing on program development and evaluation, adult learning theory, instructional methods, and electives designed to build upon their own areas of expertise. Recent graduates are currently employed as training coordinators, corporate and military trainers, community college instructors, and professional staff in community development agencies.

Degree Offered
We offer the Master of Education in Education and Human Resource Studies-Adult Education and Training Specialization. This degree can be completed on campus or online.
Certificates Offered
Our department offers two certificates:
1. Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) Training-This certificate will help you gain knowledge and competence in the field of adult basic education and family literacy.
2. Teaching with Technology and Distance Learning- This certificate provides instruction and experience in state-of-the-art learning technology options that can be used to enhance instruction in both face-to-face and distance settings
